Safety Center
Trade confidently on D1 Marketplace
D1 Marketplace connects people directly. We cannot guarantee the safety of an in-person meetup or the honesty of another user, so these habits matter.
How to spot a scam
- Prices far below market value, with pressure to act immediately.
- A “buyer” who overpays and asks for a refund of the difference.
- Requests to move the conversation to another app straight away.
- Anyone asking for a verification code sent to your phone or email.
Communicate safely
- Keep conversations in D1 Marketplace messaging so there is a record.
- Don't share your home address, ID documents or banking details.
- Block and report anyone who is abusive or pushy.
Handling payments
- For local deals, pay in person once you have inspected the item.
- Avoid gift cards, wire transfers and cryptocurrency — they are unrecoverable.
- Never pay a deposit for an item you have not seen.
Meeting in person
- Meet in a busy, well-lit public place; many police stations offer exchange zones.
- Bring someone with you, especially for high-value items.
- Tell a friend where you are going and when you expect to be back.
What D1 Marketplace will never ask for
- Your password or a login code.
- Payment sent directly to a staff member.
- Remote access to your device.
